Lago Trasimeno

5-10 min • Umbria

Lago Trasimeno

The fourth-largest lake in Italy, just 5-10 minutes from the agriturismo. A vast mirror of water surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and medieval villages. In summer its warm, safe waters invite you to swim, sail, windsurf, kayak and SUP. The ferry reaches Isola Maggiore, where St Francis withdrew to pray in 1211, and Isola Polvese with its castle ruins. A 50 km cycle path circles the entire lake. The villages on its shores, Castiglione del Lago, Passignano, San Feliciano, offer lake-fish restaurants, markets and unforgettable sunsets.

Montepulciano

30 min • Tuscany

Montepulciano

An elegant Renaissance town 30 minutes away, famous worldwide for its Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG. Its medieval streets hide historic cellars carved into the rock where wines age in century-old barrels. From the tower of the Town Hall, on clear days, the gaze reaches as far as the Sibillini Mountains. Not to be missed: Piazza Grande, cellar tastings and shopping for local products: wine, oil, pecorino and honey.

Perugia

44 min • Umbria

Perugia

The capital of Umbria, 44 minutes away, offers a beautifully preserved medieval old town. The National Gallery of Umbria holds masterpieces by Perugino and Pinturicchio. The Rocca Paolina conceals an entire underground medieval quarter. Perugia is the home of Baci Perugina chocolates (factory visits possible), host of the Umbria Jazz Festival in July and Eurochocolate in October, Europe's largest chocolate festival with 900,000 visitors.

Val d'Orcia

52 min • Tuscany

Val d'Orcia

A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2004, the iconic Tuscan landscape with its rolling hills, lined cypresses, isolated farmhouses and golden fields. This is the view you admire from Torri di Porsenna. The heart of the valley is 52 minutes away, but its charm begins right at the gates of our property. The cypress-lined road near San Quirico d'Orcia is one of the most photographed landscapes in the world.
